I moved three times during High School, to a new state every year. When I hit Kansas my Senior year I knew two people at my new school. My cousin and my sister. It’s hard to make new friends at a strange school. Especially when you start two weeks late with your arm in a cast because you broke your arm horse back riding the day before school started, haha. Luckily, in every place I’ve lived, and there have been many, there were kind people who were open and willing to be my friend. When I entered Olathe High School you were one of the generous people (and there weren’t as many as you might think) who befriended me when I was the “new girl”. I’m glad others are doing that for you. It’s a kind of karma I think. I’m guessing it won’t be long until you have created a new network of friends and acquaintances that make you feel at home. It looks to me like you are off to a great start. Take care dear friend and keep on smiling. That lovely smile of yours will open a lot of doors and a lot of hearts!
I can’t imagine being the new kid in high school…as if high school wasn’t hard enough! I remember feeling so honored that you friended me! I think it was Mrs. Zimmerman’s class that we first met??? I had serious hair envy. Thanks for the positives. THEY made me smile! xo
Happy New Year dear friend. I love reading all that you write. I have to say whenever I finish reading your posts, I feel like a warm blanket has been wrapped around me with a hug. I am glad that your New Years was with new friends and new traditions. I thought of our ‘band’ of sisters and how much you all mean to me even though we don’t see each other as often as I wish we could. But you are all my friends for life and you all have a special place in my heart. Life always has a way of moving us forward. I am thankful that you allow us to travel with you and take on changes that we may not be brave enough to seek out. But most of all my friend, I love that you are and always will be that same girl I met so many years ago with an easy smile, that wonderful laugh, and the best sense of humor. I love your take on life and that your words are honest and sometimes thoughts we all have. Wishing you a blessed 2020. I hope that our paths cross at least once during this year. Love and miss you.
Another horizon crossed for my friend who wanders. Love your NYE entry!! You never cease to amaze and astound me. Still the bravest person I know. Love you forever!!
